Executive Director Update:
Your Support. Our Journey. Four Years of Impact.
This September, RecoveryWorks is launching All Roads Recovery—a new program grounded in SAMSHA’s four pillars of recovery: home, health, purpose, and community. Thanks to a generous grant from the Gateway to the Rockies Opioid Council, this program will offer services including on-site treatment, transitional housing, peer coaching, recovery groups, and job support.
We are also expanding into Street Outreach through a new award from the City of Lakewood, allowing RecoveryWorks to build relationships and connect some of our most vulnerable unhoused neighbors to existing community resources.
As we celebrate our fourth birthday, we are deeply grateful for your continued support. While we have been fortunate to receive these new funding awards, several other federal grant opportunities were unexpectedly eliminated. Your partnership is vital to help us meet the growing need.

Room for Recovery:
Lowe’s Grant Funds New Space for Community Connection
RecoveryWorks is thrilled to be one of just 100 nonprofits nationwide to be awarded a capital grant from Lowe’s Hometowns. The funding will help us transform an oversized old workshop room into a warm, welcoming space where our recovery community can gather and grow. Read more on Lowe’s site.
The renovation—featuring new flooring, walls, outlets, furniture, and fresh paint—will create a inviting space that serves over 250 unhoused neighbors annually. It expands our work through All Roads Recovery and deepens our commitment to supporting connection, community, and recovery.
“We are honored to receive this support from Lowe’s. A welcoming and trauma-informed space can be the foundation for trust, healing, and transformation. This grant allows us to build not just a room – but a refuge where recovery can truly begin.“ Rebecca Martinez, Chief Operating Officer, RecoveryWorks.

Second Cup Circle Program Launch!
On July 11, RecoveryWorks and Grace Covenant Church hosted a BBQ at Mountain View Flats to launch Second Cup Circle—a new program helping past and current guests stay connected and support long-term, stable housing. This welcoming space offers regular chances to share resources, build relationships, and strengthen community.
Second Cup Circle grew from guests’ desire to stay linked to a strong support system after their transition to housing. It reflects RecoveryWorks’ commitment to lasting recovery and housing stability.

I’ve lived in Colorado since I was 14, mostly around Lakewood, Wheat Ridge and Golden. I’m 57 now. I worked hard most of my life in service industry; I even served food and drinks at Broncos games for seven years. I raised two daughters with my mom and put them through college – one graduated from Mines and the other from DU. After we had a big fallout, I had just seven hours to leave. I became homeless…
