The most challenging part about the cold winter months is that there is such limited opportunity to shelter our unhoused neighbors overnight.
In their effort to find a place to sleep each night, individuals and families living outside move from place to place, regularly losing their meager belongings. The process of moving from the streets to stable, affordable housing is very complex. It involves navigating complicated eligibility rules, long wait lists, proper timing, and a lot of good luck. Some of the steps include obtaining vital documents, applying for affordable housing, and finding and maintaining employment, all while spending much of the day finding ways to meet basic needs of survival and safety.
RecoveryWorks is proud to offer a place for people to stop by to warm up, utilize laundry services, take a hot shower, and find resources for stable housing. It is also important to note that every day is severe weather when you don't have access to housing.
